10th Season Comes to a Close
The annual spring three-band spring concert on May 6 featuring the Abbott Hill Wanderers, Meanderers, and Ramblers has brought this 10th season to a close, and it’s been the busiest ever with 20 Ramblers shows in the last 12 months. There were many highlights, but certainly three stand out: our performances at the State Capitol, our doubleheader with Ellen Gawler and her Pineland Fiddlers, and then the show at the Skye Theater in East Dixfield. The latter was videotaped, so although we did not produce a new CD this year, at least we have some documentation of this year’s look and sound on DVD!

We’re sorry to see our three seniors depart. James, who we all wish had been with us more than just this one year, heads to Ohio to study music. Danielle and Catherine are also off to college, to Bay Path and Bates respectively. These are big holes to fill, but it seems to come together every year. Our sound will be different, but potentially just as wonderful, and certainly no less entertaining.

Stay tuned for more details about the August 7 Grand Opening of the Ridge View Community School. Part of the festivities will include a performance by the Ramblers in this new venue, home to our future local shows. (Yes, it’s goodbye to the Dexter Middle School gymnasium.)
